The Riegle Scholarships
The 2017 Riegle Scholars have been announced!
Dr. Gail Riegle and his wife Barbara donated $10,000 to help fund scholarships for staff of the Blantyre Malaria Project. Here are this year’s recipients — congratulations to all and sincere gratitude to the Riegles.

2016
Gail and Barbara Riegle came to Malawi to present the 2016 Riegle Scholars with their awards.
Dr. Gail Riegle and his wife Barbara donated $10,000 to help fund scholarships for staff of the Blantyre Malaria Project. We hosted a lunch in their honor during their September visit to Malawi, when they attended the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the College of Medicine.
The lunch was very touching — everyone told how the scholarship had impacted their life — but the funniest part was when Dr. Riegle asked, “Now, I’m curious … have any of you ever had malaria?”
The BMP team just cracked up, and relayed that they’d had malaria “so many times” during their lives.
